Lavoy Allen can get it doneOverall this game is going to be very entertaining. Temple nor Seton Hall can walk in this game coming away with a easy win Temple has the early edge because of their .671 RPI rating.. You maybe asking yourself the same question i'm asking myself today how could the Giants lose this game against the Eagles after making 512 passing yards it's impossible you think! But we lost by one touchdown and you can forget about all the stupid stumbling and fumbling that the Giants team made.It all boils down to one thing it's the ridiculous stupid red shoes from the wizard of oz that Mario Mannigham was wearing on his feet.We lost a game winning touchdown because Mannigham did not have regular white old fashion proper football boots that are perfectly fine to wear on your feet and it cost the Giants the game no doubt about it.Come on Tom Coughlin can't you see that the red shoes with the extra inch for the pointed toe just cost the Giants the lead over the NFC EAST.The red shoes stand out like a neon light at night and if Mannigham had put on a pair of white football boots on nobody would have noticed his toe with the extra inch hit the white line and with a regular pair of boots the extra inch would not exist!Lets face it we need to get off the yellow-brick road and stop celebrating the 70th anniversary of the wizard of oz.please Mannigham save the red shoes for someone else we the fans don't need them. The red shoes just spell out comedy show for the Giants team.I would not ask my worst enemy to wear a pair of them red shoes they suck big time. The shoes are laughable i'm sure i seen them in a bad episode of seinfeld. It's a sin for Tom Coughlin to allow any player from the Giants to wear a pair of red pointed shoes.I don't want to see a pair of shoes that look like they came from another atmosphere on the feet of my favourite football team in the NFL.Why are the Giants changing their hats every year it's costing me a fortune think about it people they should give us fans a break! . As I sat there onSunday afternoon, and watched the Denver Broncos fight their way back into their game against the Indianapolis Colts, I couldn't help but doubt and blame Peyton Manning for the Broncos being able to get to that position. Now this isn't the first time I've doubted Peyton Manning, one of the most memorable for me was when the Colts were playing the Patriots for the AFC Championship, the Colts were down 21-6 I believe, then Manning did something truly amazing: Rallied the Colts back to win the game.Peyton had some mistakes in this game, as seen by the 3 INTS in the stat sheet (two of which were not his fault). But he also played some brilliant football, even though the stat sheet doesn't reflect too much of this (20-42, 220 yards, 4 TD's, 3 INT's), but he made the most important throws of the game. There were some odd stretches in this game, including Manning going 6-22 in a two quarter stretch, and three records being broken this game.Up 21-16, Denver had just scored but failed on the 2 point conversion. It looked like the Broncos were gonna stop Manning again and have an opportunity to win the game. Then Peyton made magic happen.Peyton Manning drove the Colts up on one final time consuming drive, one where we saw the normal Peyton Manning and his brilliance.
The one that helped the Colts win the Superbowl. We may never see this kind of brilliance again, the kind that when the Colts don't come away with a touchdown, you're surprised. Peyton Manning may just be the smartest quarterback to ever play the game.He reads defences perfectly, often times calling just the right audible in the situation, that usually leads to a big gain. While often called a "choker" he has won the big game, and has taken his Colts deep into the playoffs numerous times. There is no doubt in my mind that he is the best QB in this generation, and while other names may come up, like those of Brett Favre and Tom Brady, I firmly believe that he is the best of the bunch.Lets do a small comparison with Brett Favre: Brett is/was much more interception prone than Manning (although this year is an exception) Favre is the holder of the career record for yards (over 68,000), Touchdowns thrown (closing in on 500), Interceptions (closing in on 320), 61 completion and an 86.1 QB Rating. Peyton Manning is currently 4th for yards (over 49,000), 3rd for Touchdowns (362), he has only 179 picks, completes over 64 of his passes, and is 2nd in passer rating (95.1).Brett Favre is always considered one of the game's top quarterbacks of all time, but Peyton Manning bests him in almost ever meaningfulcategory, except yards and TD's, but that's because Manning doesn't have nearly 20 years playing the game. When Peyton's time comes, I firmly believe that he will have shattered all of these records except interceptions.Tom Brady is a great QB, but he's no Peyton Manning. Brady has: over 30,000 yards passing, over 220 TD's, a shade under 100 INTS, 63.3 completions, and a rating of 93.2. His rating is the mostimpressive stat here, since it's the 3rd highest in the history of the league. Especially with Bill Belichick calling the defensive plays.Best quarterback of all time is questionable, because there were so many greats like Montana, Young, Marino, Aikman etc.

But by the time it's all said and done, he could be better than all of them.Only time will tell.. LeBron James scored a season-high 44 points Sunday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Before returning to the court he grabbed a french fry from a boy wearing a Kevin Durant jersey. Check it out here. . Just when I thought that the Minnesota Vikings were going to fall apart, they go and do something like this and totally redeem themselves! At the conclusion of last week's wrap up I went looking for some mouthwash to wash the bitter taste out of my mouth. Well it appears I found it. It's Colgate's Bengal flavor. The polar opposite of last week, this week the Vikings, the fans, and the state of Minnesota is flying high. Last weeks embarrassment in the desert had Vikings faithful a tad bit worried. (Well some of us ranged from a little uneasy to their friends having to tell them "don't do it man! It's not worth it!" I was somewhere in the middle)I think maybe the most telling stat of the game is Carson Palmer went 15 of 25 (respectable) for 94 yards. (What) You read that right. That is astonishing. I believe that's in the neighborhood of 3 yards a completion. That tells us one of two things, A) there was nothing open downfield and B) we must have had pretty good pressure on Palmer forcing short throws. We manged to hold Cedric Benson 4 yards under 100 yards, bringing our streak of not allowing a single rusher to get 100 yards to 37 I believe. Chad Johnson did score, but with his team trailing at that point he (wisely) chose to abstain from trying to wrestle Ragnar's horn from him.Going along with the redemption theme, the two men in my picture did a lot to further their own redemption causes. Brett Favre had a decent game, throwing for 192 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Not great but not a "meltdown" many having been calling (hoping) for. Adrian Peterson ran the ball a season high 26 times for 97 yards and two touchdowns. He added in 43 receiving yards. Solid all around outing for him. Perhaps this Adrian Peterson kid is going to be all right huhThe defense was outstanding. Rookies Jasper Brinkley and Jamarca Sanford had good games considering they were making their first starts. Brinkley can lay the wood and Brinkley didn't look as lost in pass coverage as Tyrell Johnson, the rookie he was replacing. Perhaps Sanford was aided by the fact that Antoine Winfield made his (much anticipated) return this week. Winny is good...no other way to put it. Winfield came back and was instant impact making 8 solo tackles and forcing a fumble. He also dropped a sure interception, but made up for it by dropping and giving thecapacity crowd ten. Much to their delight. You forget just how important Antoine is to the defense when he's not in there. Well he gave us a refresher yesterday. Here's to hoping that Favre can hold up the remainder of the way. He was pretty coy about the issue after the game. Guard Steve Hutchinson said that Favre is actually getting stronger as the season wears on, as opposed to falling apart like so many Favre haters claim. The Red Sox have made a major headline free agent signing and it was not Matt Holiday or Jason Bay it was star starting pitcher John Lackey. This signing seemed to come out of no where, it seemed the Red Sox had their sights on Adrian Beltre, Jason Bay, or Matt Holiday. Lackey is coming off an amazing postseason where he went 1-1 with a 2.29 era and an opponent batting average of .241. Now, we know what this means for the starting rotation the Red Sox will have three aces in John Lester, Josh Beckett, and now Lackey. But, to me this signing is sending me two messages from the Red Soxfront office. The first message is that there is a very good chance the Red Sox will not sign Josh Beckett after this season. Beckett's deal is up at the end of the season, and their have been rumors that the Red Soxand Beckett's agent have been no where close to signing an extension. Is Lackey the backup plan for the Red Sox incase they can't sign Beckett back I think the front office is concerned that they can't get Beckett, and Lackey seems like a reliable replacement for Beckett. The second message the front office is sending is that Clay Bucholtz may as well pack his bags, because he is gone. Bucholtz is one of Boston's best trade pieces, and we all know they have been going hard at Adrian Gonzalez. Boston has a hole at third base and their two options are either sign Adrian Beltre who is very injury prone or trade top prospects for Adrian Gonzalez and move Kevin Youkilis back to third base. If the Redsox were to trade for Gonzalez they would need to give up more than Bucholtz probably two of Casey Kelly, Ryan Westmoreland, Ryan Kalish, Junichi Tazawa, Josh Reddick and Michael Bowdin. So, obviously Adrian Gonzalez will be very costly to the Red Soxfarm system, but he would really put this team over the top. In an offseason that has already been crazy I have a feeling the Red Soxare ready to make a couple big splashes in trades and the free agent market..
